Werder Bremen say no to blue-and-white vibes in Zillertal
Werder Bremen have made a tiny but very noticeable change at their training camp in Zillertal: the goal nets are no longer blue and white. Instead, the Green-Whites have had them switched to the far more fitting green-and-white look.
The original nets came from local club SK Zell am Ziller and had been put up at the pitch in the park stadium. But once Werder arrived, the blue-and-white setup clearly didn’t sit right with a club that takes its colors seriously — especially with Hamburger SV lurking in the background.
A small swap, a big statement
It may sound like a tiny detail, but for Werder it was apparently one detail too many. So the club took action and replaced the nets during the training camp, making sure the venue matched the team’s identity a little better.
By the next day, the pitch was looking much more Werder-like, with green-and-white nets in place and even a corner flag carrying the club logo. Problem solved.
Business in Austria
While the net debate may have provided a bit of pre-season entertainment, Werder are still there for serious work. The team continues its preparations in Austria and still has friendlies ahead as it gears up for the new season.
In the end, it was a classic football story: one club’s harmless blue and white is another club’s absolute no-go.
